Top 5 restaurants in Dubai & Abu Dhabi

This post is also available in: Bulgarian

Happy New Year! I hope 2020 brings you all the love, happiness, health and success! It’s been a little bit longer than I’d like, since my last post… Anyways, I am not going to promise again to be back on track with more blog posts, but I would rather try to do it.

Last year we went to Dubai and Abu Dhabi for my birthday and I shared with you my Dubai & Abu Dhabi Travel Guide, which you seemed to like and find interesting. Therefore, I decided to share with you a little bit more information about this trip and put together my Top 5 restaurants in Dubai & Abu Dhabi.

We spent in the UAE a bit longer than a week, which gave us the opportunity to try different cafes, bars and restaurants. However, I decided to share with you only the ones that I truly think are worth visiting. The following recommendations are not presented according to a ranking but rather in a random order.

Bounty Beets

The restaurant is located in the beautiful “Le Meridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina”, which I also think is worth exploring after a nice brunch. Anyways, the place has only organic, gluten-free and vegan options with amazingly creative names and presentations. We tried the Acai Berry Power Bowl, the Bravocado (super delicious avocado toast) and also my favorite choice: the sweet potato pancakes! You heard right… sweet potato PANCAKES!!! We also loved the smoothies and the power juices there. It doesn’t stop here; the place has an amazing garden overseeing the beach, super cute photo friendly spots inside, nice wall paintings and funny quotes like “Love pizza more than Kanye loves Kanye”.

Arabian Tea House

The tea house is located in the Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, once known as Al Bastakiya. Visiting this place feels like travelling back into the old times and gives you the opportunity to enjoy a nice lunch and gahwa (traditional Arabic coffee) in a very authentic environment. It has both an amazing Italian style garden with beautiful turquois settings, curtains and super colorful flowers, plus a fantastic outside area, where you can sit and enjoy the ancient surroundings under the shade of a beautiful old tree. There you can definitely try various traditional dishes, but I truly recommend you try the hummus, the falafel wrap and the Labneh. Being a tea house, they of course have a nice area, where you can enjoy Arabic tea while sitting on the floor in a Bedouin white tent surrounded by gorgeous flowers.

Nusr-et Dubai

Located in the stunning Four Seasons Hotel Dubai, this restaurant is definitely one of the most famous among all of my Top 5 restaurants. The social media star Salt Bae became famous with his amazing meat and of course unique presentation of putting salt on top of it. Moreover, the place has a fantastic view of the skyscrapers in Dubai and especially of Burj Khalifa. The food there is more than amazing and the meat is super fresh and well made (at least that’s what I’ve heard). For non-meat lovers like me they have very nice salads and desserts. We were lucky that Salt Bae was actually in his Dubai restaurant when we were visiting and we managed to meet him and see how he puts salt on our dishes. For all you meat-lovers, I think this is the place in Dubai you definitely should visit!

Emirates Palace, Abi Dhabi

This place is part of the luxurious 5* hotel Emirates Palace, located in a fabulous natural bay in the heart of Abu Dhabi. The hotel itself is definitely worth visiting, as its interior is entirely covered with 22-carat gold. For more important information when visiting Emirates Palace see my Dubai & Abu Dhabi Travel Guide. Anyways, as I have previously mentioned the hotel is not only designed with gold, but is also a place where you can eat and drink dishes made with gold. Every year more than 5kg of 24-carat gold is being eaten in dishes chosen from a perfectly made gold menu. Therefore, we decided to try gold cappuccino, waffles with gold sprinkles and a camel meat burger with sweet potatoes fries, covered in gold. The waffles were amazing, the fries were more than delicious and I even tried the camel burger. Honestly this place is definitely worth visiting, as it’s not just a restaurant, but a rather whole “golden” experience.

The Meat Co

Last, but not least is the restaurant The Meat Co located next to/actually on a platform over the water of the Dubai Fountain. Therefore, if you are looking to have dinner close to the water, with amazing view of Burj Khalifa and overlooking the Dubai Fountains’ show, this is definitely your place. It not only has amazing meat dishes, but also super delicious salads and desserts. However, my most favorite part of our dinner there were the amazing cocktails, served in super cute bird-like glasses, and the chocolate bread… YES, chocolate bread, which apparently was perfect for meat.

Talking about cocktails, I can also recommend trying the bars in the Madinat Jumeirah. The atmosphere there is more than wonderful. You can enjoy an amazing night out with creative cocktails, surrounded by water, palms, extremely beautiful architecture and of course wonderful view of Burj al Arab. One place that we didn’t manage to visit is the Ossiano restaurant in Atlantis, The Palm. There you can have a dream-like underwater dinner, while various marine animals glide past your table in the UAE’s largest aquarium. However, bear in mind that you need a reservation from a little while before, because trying to book a table the previous day you may end up like us, not being able to visit it at all during your trip.

We honestly loved Dubai & Abi Dhabi, not only for their amazing experiences, culture and atmosphere, but also for the wonderful creative and different restaurants and bars. Magical trip!

I hope you have the opportunity to visit at least one of our Top 5 restaurants in Dubai & Abu Dhabi! Share with me your further recommendations and experiences at these magical places!
