Matcha latte and Art Nouveau

This post is also available in: Bulgarian

Hello, my lovelies!

This day was a bit different than the other free days, as we didn’t really have much of a plan. We just decided to walk around, drink matcha and explore some more touristic destinations, such as the first house designed by Gaudí, called Casa Vicens.

I don’t understand why it is not as famous and touristic as his other houses, when it is truly gorgeous and is one of the first representations of Art Nouveau architecture. It is so colourful and with such amazing details that I can honestly say that I like it the most from all Gaudí’s buildings.

The whole building was covered by different coloured ceramic tiles, which made me feel like I am in Morocco rather than in the centre of Barcelona. The best part was there were almost no people, so it was a pleasure actually staying there and enjoying its colours and design.

Next to Casa Vicens, we found a garage door, painted in the exact same style as the house. An old lady, passing by, tried to tell us more about it, but with my Spanish still being very basic, I understood just a little. Anyways, I can tell you that it was made by a famous artist with similar style, who was approved by the government to actually draw his painting right next to the landmark.

After we took few photos and my boyfriend strictly examined every architectural detail, we finally decided to continue our walk. We wanted to do some shopping, but as we didn’t like anything, we decided to go and have something to drink.

The last time we were in Brunch & Cake, I really loved the atmosphere, so we decided to go there and have some chai latte and matcha latte. I am truly obsessed with both of them and their nutritional value, and I am trying to make them at home, but they somehow always taste better in cafes. We didn’t resist the temptation and also ordered cakes…

We spent there a while, talking and making travelling plans, when it became too cold and we decided to head home.
